Former Quarter Drop Petition Alert

Special Former Quarter Drop Instructions

Winter 2020 Instructions

The University is aware of the impact on student success resulting from the unexpected move of Winter 2020 courses to a 100% remote delivery learning environment on March 9th, or having classes end on March 6th, requiring students to be graded based on the work completed to date.

Students who choose to submit a Former Quarter Drop Petition for Winter due to the COVID-19 outbreak may identify how this impacted their ability to drop classes by the 14th day of Winter Quarter in their personal statement. Students who have a supportive statement from a UW official who is familiar with their situation may provide this but it will not be required.

In the interest of safety for students and to limit the additional burden on stretched healthcare resources, the petition process will not require completion of the Healthcare Provider forms.

When prompted for supporting documentation: Students who fall into one of the above categories that does not require additional supporting documentation should attach a copy of their personal statement.
