Residency & ELPR Office Updates

These updates are for UW Seattle current and prospective students only.

Advising Services

The Residency/ELPR Office offers virtual appointments via Zoom. Advising appointments are typically available Monday through Thursday from 10am to 12noon and 1pm to 4pm.

You should check your email at least two hours prior to your appointment time for the Zoom meeting information. You may access your Zoom meeting by telephone or computer audio.

Student Privacy

Reminder to parents and third-party representative(s) of a current or newly admitted UW student: We cannot discuss your student’s residency status or application with you due to federal and state privacy laws and office policy. Please have your student schedule the appointment, which they must also attend.

Application Submissions and Review Process

Submission Requirements

Mailed copies of documents are not accepted. All submissions must be made via the online portal, which will guide you through the upload process.


  • This online submission portal is only for UW Seattle students. UW Bothell and UW Tacoma students should submit residency material to your campus.
  • Be sure you are submitting your application and documents to the correct quarter’s portal.
  • Your application submission must include fully completed and signed residency application and all required documentation for us to begin a review.
  • Upload your documents in the correct file format (PDF, PNG, or JPG), and convert all Word doc and Excel files to PDF before submitting. 
  • All communication about your application status will be sent by email to your UW address.

  • Winter 2021 applicants: Initial applications and supporting documents filed for Winter 2021 were due February 3, 2021 (statutory deadline). Additional documents requested by our office must be submitted online by the March 19, 2021 deadline.

  • Spring 2021 applicants: Initial applications and supporting documents for Spring 2021 must be submitted through the online submission portal by April 28, 2021Any additional documents requested by our office must be submitted online by June 11, 2021. The link to the Spring 2021 online submission portal will be available on March 1, 2021 at 9 am (PST).

  • Summer 2021 applicants: Applications for Summer 2021 quarter are not being accepted at this time. This application period will begin May 24, 2021 (regardless of Full-Term, A-Term, or B-Term enrollment). Please check back for submission instructions at that time.
