It’s Time to Register for Summer 2023
Dear University of Washington students,
Summer 2023 registration begins Monday, April 10, 2023.
To get started with registration, review your academic plan for Summer 2023 and seek guidance from an adviser if you need assistance. Then, sign into MyUW and complete your pre-registration steps before your estimated priority registration date.
Prepare for Registration
- View the Priority Registration Schedule for Summer 2023.
- Complete your pre-registration steps before registration begins.
- Check your tuition balance.
- Verify that you do not have any registration blocks by checking the MyUW Registration card or the MyPlan Registration screen. A common cause of registration blocks could be:
- Incomplete COVID-19 vaccination. Note that you only need to upload this information one time, as opposed to each quarter that you are registering. If you have ANY registration holds, you will not be able to register for classes for Summer 2023 until the registration hold is resolved. If you have any registration holds, a message will be displayed titled “Registration hold” that explains the cause of the block and provides instructions for how to resolve it, and/or
- Measles, Mumps, and Meningococcal (MMM) immunization requirements, and/or
- For new students Autumn 2022 forward who still need to complete the Husky Prevention & Response module (following section).
- Review the three choices related to Grading Options for S/NS and Numeric grading.
- Need to make a change to your registration? Review the Registration Change Guide for Spring 2023.
- Current Quarter Drop: Review information on how to drop one class and up to all of your classes through this process.
- Former Quarter Drop: Looking to drop a class from a former quarter? Review the Former Quarter Drop process information.
Critical: Required Husky Prevention & Response (Title IX) Student Course
Husky Prevention & Response (HPR) is a course about preventing and responding to sex- and gender-based violence and harassment. Beginning with the academic year 2022–2023 new and returning freshman, transfer, graduate, and professional students are required to complete the 60- to 90-minute online student course. Students who do not complete the course will be blocked from registering for their second quarter. Begin the Husky Prevention & Response Student Course now or learn more on the Title IX student course page.
Expecting to Graduate Next Quarter?
- Be sure to contact your adviser to submit your graduation application by the application deadline, which is the third week of each quarter.
- We are pleased to announce that your diploma name no longer has to match your UW record name! Instead, you can have your diploma issued in the name of your choice by entering your information into the Diploma Name and Address form. This is also where you will put the address where you would like your diploma mailed.
- Complete and submit this form now to ensure that your paper diploma will reach the best permanent address after you graduate. If you have not entered information in the form when we order your diploma the information from your student record will be used to issue and mail your diploma.
