Current Quarter Drop

TEST PAGE | TEST FORM | TEST PAGE | TEST FORM

The Annual Drop has been discontinued and has been replaced with the Current Quarter Drop – available October 14, 2020.

The Current Quarter Drop process begins after the first two weeks of the quarter drop processes, called the Unrestricted Drop Period, and is designed to provide students with greater control over what classes are being dropped during the 3rd to 7th week of the current quarter.

The Office of the University Registrar has designed the process to make sure students are aware of the impact on funding and/or student status when dropping classes and provided a way for an academic adviser, who students identify, to reach out and discuss the drop with the student.

Each quarter students may drop one class between the 3rd to 7th weeks using MyUW. Then, in order to drop additional classes between the 3rd to 7th weeks, students will use the process below. Students are highly encouraged to review the tuition forfeiture policy when considering dropping, as it will apply prior to this period.

Request Deadline

The Current Quarter Drop – Adviser Assisted process ends on the last day of the 7th week of the quarter. Students must plan accordingly to give time for the request to be submitted and advising to be completed before the end of the last date of instruction.

  • Students must submit their request to the designated adviser by the 7th week deadline date.
  • Advisers will have until the last day of instruction to submit the request to their campus registration team to ensure that the drop is processed before the end of the quarter.
  • Requests received after the last date of instruction will not be processed.

Current Quarter Drop Process

Step One: Current Quarter Drop – Self-Service Auto

Students may drop one class via MyUW during the 3rd to 7th weeks of the current quarter as normally done to add/drop classes.

Step Two: Current Quarter Drop – Adviser Assisted

Students may submit a Current Quarter Drop – Adviser Assisted Drop Request Form to indicate any or all remaining classes to be dropped during the 3rd to 7th weeks of the current quarter. Once submitted, the student will receive an email from the advising team or adviser identified on the request form to discuss the drop. The adviser will then forward the request to drop classes to the corresponding campus registration team.
