S/NS to Numeric
Late changes from S/NS grading option to numeric are allowed only in situations where a course must have a numeric grade to fulfill University, college, major, degree, prerequisite, or similar requirements. This option applies only to Non-Extraordinary Circumstances Quarters.
Typically not approved:
- Electives
- Courses from a large group of options
- Prerequisite for a course that is NOT a graduation requirement
Alert – Graduate Students
As per scholastic regulation 110 graduate student section B. 5. “If approval is granted, the student must elect the S/NS option when registering or no later than the last day of finals week of the quarter. Numeric grades will not be converted subsequently to S/NS grades (or vice versa).” This means when a graduate student chooses S/NS for a course, it cannot be changed once the quarter ends.
Numeric to S/NS
